Bronze-edged white enamel cross pattée with crown suspension; the face with an imposed central circular bronze-edged white enamel medallion with a red enamel Cross of Santiago on a deep blue enamel circle, circumscribed ‘PREMIO A LA CONSTANCIA EN EL SERVICIO’ (Award for Constancy in Service); the reverse with an imposed central circular bronze-edged white enamel medallion with a deep blue enamel central circle; on original ribbon mounted for wear with pasador top bar.
The Cross was instituted on 26 December 1958 and approved by King Juan Carlos I by Royal Decree 682/2002 of 12 July 2002. The Regulations for the award were later modified in 2011 by Royal Decree 1385/2011.
It may be awarded to permanent members of the Spanish Armed Forces, as well as to members of the Civil Guard, at or below the rank of corporal.
The bronze cross is awarded for 15 years’ irreproachable service.
