Silver gilt and red enamel decoration in the form of a standard imposed on a cog wheel and upright wheat stalks, on linden wreath suspension; the face with a red enamel standard centrally, a red enamel five-pointed star above on the ears of wheat, the base of the cogwheel decorated with linden leaves; the reverse with an escutcheon bearing the two-tailed lion of Bohemia, the Patriarchal cross of Slovakia on its breast, imposed on the upper cogwheel, a five-pointed star above, the base of the cogwheel decorated with linden leaves; the reverse of the suspension with silver hallmark, with ‘900’ silver purity mark and with maker’s mark of Žukov of Prague, numbered ‘7907’; on original slightly frayed ribbon mounted for wear in the French style; with a slightly soiled ribbon bar mounted for wear; in original case of issue, the Czechoslovak lion and the tile of the Order in gilt on the lid, the hinge now detached from the base. The Order was instituted in a single class on 4 May 1955 to be awarded for outstanding work in building socialism. Communist-era Czechoslovak orders were of a significantly higher quality than those of some other countries. A superb example.
